The weather forecast was cloudy with some thunderstorms for the week on Sunday. We woke up to a sunny and hot Monday. Now the forecast is sunny and hot for the duration of our stay in Boston.

We dropped Ali at MIT first. While waiting for the course registration, we walked around the Stata Building. This was built after my time at MIT. The architect is Frank Gehry. The building looks very interesting, but I wonder how easy it is to work/live inside and how maintainable it is.
Then we took the subway to downtown Boston. Visited the old cemeteries of Granary and King’s Chapel on the way to the Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. We took the ranger-guided tour of Freedom Trail up to the Old North Church. Our guide was a very enthusiastic and theatrical fellow.
Central part of Boston is best seen by walking around, and it is really a small area. We walked from the Italian neighborhood of North End to Copley Plaza. Visited the Public Library.
The city has placed high-tech trash cans everywhere. These compact the trash inside using the solar-generated electricity so that the trash doesn’t need to be picked up every day.
Thus increasing the trash density. Wall-e Boston’da. Q: if it is neat and clean is it still trash?
