2014 Seyahati / Road Trip

Museum Day

The main event of Thursday Aug 7th, our sixth day by my reckoning from Day 0, was the visit to the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA). The day started with rain, in addition Zehra had one of her long Skype meetings, so we had limited time. Luckily we caught a municipal bus that took us directly to the museum.

The main exhibit was the Magna Carta on loan. The theme was the importance of this document to the uprising of the American colonies against the British Crown. The musical instruments room was very engaging. We spent most of our limited time on the floors of the American Art wing since this is the claim to fame for the Boston MFA.

Then we met Ali at MIT at the end of his class and walked to the Cambridgeside Galleria to meet Faruk and Zeynep. We talked about our soon-to-start long drive and their upcoming Istanbul visit while eating pizza.
